Welcome to the first edition of AILA FRESH e-news for 2016, this edition is brought to you from Sunny Queensland’s Qfresh team.

First up AILA Fresh would like to wish you all a belated HAPPY NEW YEARS and hope that 2016 is already becoming the best year ever, the Landscape Architecture industry is booming and it’s an exciting time for everyone. As always, a big thank you to our Corporate Partners Cabot’s & Intergrain for their continuing generous support in 2016.

AILA Fresh is kicking off with events nationwide so keep your eyes peeled and make sure you follow the relevant social media pages. Over the next few month we will be visiting the universities for new member sign up and the 2016 welcome packs will be distributed with a range of awesome goodies from our amazing sponsors. We see FRESH as a participatory forum so if you have feedback, questions or ideas for FRESH initiatives or would like to join your states fresh team please get in touch with your state’s representative. Come and meet us in person at our next event, send us an email and keep an eye on your state’s social media pages to keep up to date with events and interesting industry news.

Here in QLD we have been busy bringing together new members of our team and organising our Qfresh Speed Networking event which is proudly sponsored by Intergrain. This is an exciting event which willcreate networking opportunities for students andgraduates to engage with leading, local professionals of the industry. The event will be run in a ‘speed dating’ format and allow for group discussions on the Landscape Architecture profession, the many roles Landscape Architects fill and key industry issues and successes. If you are in other parts of Australia don’t fret you won’t miss out on this awesome event as it will be happening nationwide over the next few months, SA is holding theirs on March the 10th.

Also in QLD this Friday we will be having our first FRESH FRIDAY for 2016. This continuing series will take the form of a Friday after work drinks session, set to be the first of a continuing tradition of post-work gatherings held in 2016. Through this we hope to connect graduates, students and professionals in a relaxed and fun setting. So I hope to see all you Brisbane LAs being students, graduates or professionals on Friday at Alfred & Constance in the Valley to catch up with the industry.

The Qfresh team have an array of diverse and motivating events both social and educational planned for 2016 so get excited and we will see you at the next Qfresh event!
