AILA's Vision for a Greener, Climate Resilient Future in Queensland
In the lead up to the 2024 Queensland local government elections on March 16, AILA Queensland’s Advocacy Committee has created an election platform for AILA members to call for a Commitment to Green Infrastructure and Climate and Biodiversity Positive Design from local candidates and councils.
The AILA Queensland Election Statement is a call to action on priority areas for AILA members, which align to our strategic values and advocacy plans, addressing issues that resonate with our diverse membership. The statement focuses on four key areas:
Support Climate & Biodiversity Positive Design
Promote, enhance and improve Green Infrastructure in our Communities
Workforce and Gender Equity
First Nations Recognition
You can help influence the investment in green infrastructure, climate and biodiversity positive design and other key priorities in your community by personalising the template and sending it with the election statement to council and mayoral candidates in your local area. Please find below the advocacy toolkit to get you started and we would really appreciate you including [email protected] when you send your correspondence so we can track our member activity.
AILA Queensland will also be sending letters to mayor candidates in key regions.
We look forward to your support and happy voting!
