Consultations for the Climate Change Project

In October 2008, a discussion paper was released via the web site for membership feedback and consultations.

The same paper was also used as a focus for face to face consultations and workshops – including a forum in Brisbane, a meeting in Hobart with the AILA Tasmania group, and a session in Melbourne with the AILA Victorian Environment Committee and interested individuals.

Further consultations with other state groups will be held in 2009. The format for these will be workshops in Sydney, Perth and Adelaide. These workshops will have a limited number of places to encourage an intensive debate and discussion on the details of the project.

However all AILA members will also be invited to comment and offer suggestions to the new paper when it is uploaded in 2009.

For the moment - the 2008 period for feedback submissions has closed. The National Office is in the midst of sifting through the contributions received as feedback on the former paper.

The National Office is pleased to report that the quality of input across the range of submissions has been impressive. It has been very heartening to see the level of passion & engagement with this issue within our profession – as well as the intelligent & thoughtful insights which have arisen out of the process.

October - November 2008 discussion paper: paper available but feedback closed Nov 28
