The 2002 Australian Institute of Landscape Architects National Conference was held at the Stokes Hill Wharf Complex on the tropical waters of Darwin Harbour, Northern Territory from the 22-24 August.

people + places - the spirit of design examined the changing relationship of people with the land - past, present & future. The conference was a unique exploration of the roles of the landscape architect and other design professions in designing for our contemporary world. people and places - the spirit of design aims to achieve a common ground - sharing our knowledge in learning from, engaging with and healing the landscape.

The Conference featured presentations discussions and interactive workshops from a host of Australian and international presenters on topics drawn from theory, practice and the wider community.
