Final Questions & other stuff
Was the conference recorded and will any sessions be available online?
In the week before the conference we came to an arrangement for the conference main sessions to be recorded.
We await to see what quality is available. It is anticipated at some future date that some of the sessions may be available as CPD through a user-pay system operated by a commercial provider.
we will let the membership know when/if something is available.
Will the papers be available?
Planning is underway to publish some of them. We will see what happens.
Were there limited numbers?
Registration numbers were limited.
Once we reached the limit on 30 April we closed down the online registration and ceased taking any registrations - there were no door sales.
There were about 400 people at the conference.
WAS there a company price?
Unfortunately, no, all registrations were based on individual pricing.

were there day tickets or tickets just to attend a particular presentation?
No. While the conference did offer the opportunity for presentations by people not always available in Australia, the real aim of the whole conference was to have discussions based on the wonderful presentations and to develop the debates over the two days. So delegates were encouraged to attend the whole event and to participate - ask questions, offer opinions and to respond! and the key speakers were part of the debates over the period of the conference - till the end. and ...It worked!
What were the "challenge forums" on the Saturday?
While the opening night (Thursday 7th) and the first full day (Friday) follow more or less the traditional format of theatre style presentations, the second day (Saturday) offered an alternative format.
We changed the room around and had more 'in-the-round' presentations and had the presenters set up issues that were then challenged by respondents - and by the delegates!
This was about shifting the perspectives and challenging the way we have done things!
and the new format worked and will be used again - with even more improvements.
Were there dinner tickets?
There was no sit down dinner. This conference was about discussions. So the final session was a special debate session followed by a buffet style opportunity to really chat and network - and to enjoy food and drinks.
So the registration price included this final session and buffet.
Could a registration be shared?
Yes. But it was totally for delegates to arrange. However, delegates were to share the ticket with someone of the same membership/fee status or someone with a lower cost ticket (ie a student ticket can only be used by a student, but a non-member ticket can be used by a student, member or non-member).
Entry tickets were checked for each presentation so only one person could enter each presentation. Staff did not hold tickets for someone else to pick up - it was up to delegates to do this themselves. Plus if delegates shared - someone missed out on the continuing debates and discussions - the real point of the conference!
