goals of the foundation are to:

Advance
awareness of achievements in landscape
architecture and its contribution
to the environment and community.

Advance
research, education and practice
in the discipline of landscape architecture.

To
achieve these goals the Foundation will:
- Raise
funds by seeking patronage, legacies,
gifts, donations and grants.
- Develop
collaborative partnerships with public
and private sector agencies and organizations.
- Fund
and otherwise support research into matters
that advance the practice of landscape
architecture and related professions.
- Sponsor
conferences, symposia and exhibitions
that position the profession of landscape
architecture in relation to emerging
issues of relevance to the community
and environment.
- Support
the preparation, publication and distribution
of journals, bulletins, books and other
media products on landscape architecture
and related professions, individuals
and groups.
- Make
financial grants to advance education
and research into the activities, works
and interests of the landscape architectural
profession, including:
- Scholarships and prizes for students of landscape architecture
- Fellowships for practitioners and academics throughout their working
lives.
- Fellowships for future leaders of the profession to study abroad.
- Endowing professorships in universities.

The
Foundation works to attract sources
of funding from appropriate partners
for specific project initiatives

Sponsors
are to be given recognition in line
with AILA Sponsorship Guidelines

Subject
to approval by the ATO,
specific trust funds may be established
to
receive
funds and donations to
be allocated to further specific
aims of research
and development. Funds
would be allocated according to
the donors’ or sponsors’ wishes
(and ATO requirements)
to such activities as research,
to awards
and fellowships
and for particular events
or publication activities overseen
by
the Foundation.

of funds

The
Foundation, working with the AILA National
Office, will establish accounting procedures,
financial reporting systems as well
as processes for meeting audit and
associated ATO and ASIC requirements.

Funds
from the Foundation can
be allocated upon direction of
the Board and
in accordance with the Foundation’s
strategic plan and budgets
as agreed by the AILA National
Council.

As
required, the Foundation may establish
discrete trust fund accounts and financial
management systems to ensure transparency
of specific operations and that funds
are allocated as agreed to under each
sponsorship arrangement.
