Landscape Architecture Consultancy in Ballarat


The City of Ballarat seeks the services of suitably qualified and experienced consultants to prepare a new Landscape Design Plan to guide the future development of a sculpture park featuring the work of Aboriginal artists at North Gardens, Lake Wendouree. This contract position is open to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander consultants only.


Lake Wendouree is Ballarat’s most cherished and iconic landscape. It also has a rich and significant history of recreational and cultural use by the community. The City of Ballarat in consultation with Wadawurrung Traditional Owners and local Aboriginal representatives have initiated a unique and significant, sculptural landscape project within the North Gardens precinct of the Ballarat Botanical Gardens.


Consultants are required to prepare and participate in a community engagement process, prepare the Landscape Design Plan documentation and drawings and present them to key stakeholders at both the Preliminary Draft and Final Draft stages of the Landscape Design Plan’s development.

Cultural Landscape Management Plan

Kingston and Arthur’s Vale Historic Area, Norfolk Island


The Department of Infrastructure and Regional Development requires a Cultural Landscape Management Plan (CLMP) for the Kingston and Arthur’s Vale Historic Area (KAVHA) to:

  • provide a basis for the authentic conservation, protection and interpretation of KAVHA's world, national and Commonwealth heritage values;
  • contribute to the achievement of priority policies and recommendations from the 2016 Heritage Management Plan;
  • improve awareness of KAVHA’s heritage values and enhance community and visitor engagement with the site;
  • facilitate ongoing landowner and leaseholder involvement and community engagement in caring for KAVHA's cultural landscape; and
  • consolidate previous work relating to KAVHA’s cultural landscape.

Tobruk Memorial Drive Lookout ideas competition

Submissions are invited for aspiring and experienced design professionals to develop and submit imaginative and distinctive designs to replace the Bob Dodd Lookout.

Given the unique opportunity of the scenic State heritage-listed location atop the Great Dividing Range, strong competition entries are expected with the lookout predicted to become an iconic landmark in the Toowoomba Region.
