Guidance Note for Landscape and Visual Assessment (GNLVA)
The GNLVA is an essential tool of reconciling development with landscape and scenic values and promoting better outcomes for our communities. Developed by the AILA Queensland Regional Landscapes Group, this guideline provides a practical framework for the practice of Landscape and Visual Assessment (including impact assessment) among Registered Landscape Architects based in Queensland or working on projects in Queensland.
In The Spotlight - David Kerr
Meet David Kerr, who was recently bestowed as a Fellow at the 2018 Queensland Landscape Architecture Awards Dinner held at Cloudland, Fortitude Valley.The membership category of Fellowship is an honour that AILA may bestow upon Registered members of AILA, and is made in recognition of distinguished service to AILA and/or the profession in Australia. Grab a cup of coffee and sit with David as he takes us through his greatest achievements and advice for new LAs.

2018 AILA Qld Landscape Architecture Awards - Winners Announced!
The 2018 Queensland Landscape Architecture Awards was held on Thursday 21 June at Cloudland, Fortitude Valley, and was a sell out event. On behalf of AILA QLD we would like to congratulate all the award recipients. We had a fantastic turn out of guests who celebrated into the night. It was a lovely opportunity to showcase the very best of landscape planning, design, management and community engagement. Landscape and Visual Assessment (LVA) is an essential tool of reconciling development with landscape and scenic values and promoting better outcomes for our communities.
David Ulhmann, AILA Queensland's New President and Executive Member
David has been a Registered Landscape Architect since 2004. He graduated from QUT with Graduate Diplomas in Landscape Architecture (1991) and Urban Design (2011), and has been Green Star accredited since 2004. David’s experience includes 20 years split between two large multi-disciplinary Architectural practices, which included 4 years as Landscape Architecture discipline leader for the $2Bn Gold Coast University Hospital project. Since late 2011 David has been founder and manager of the Landscape Architecture and Urban Design team at Wolter Consulting Group in Brisbane.
