Guidance Note for Landscape and Visual Assessment (GNLVA) now available!
Landscape and Visual Assessment (LVA) is an essential tool of reconciling development with landscape and scenic values and promoting better outcomes for our communities.
David Ulhmann, AILA Queensland's New President and Executive Member
David has been a Registered Landscape Architect since 2004. He graduated from QUT with Graduate Diplomas in Landscape Architecture (1991) and Urban Design (2011), and has been Green Star accredited since 2004. David’s experience includes 20 years split between two large multi-disciplinary Architectural practices, which included 4 years as Landscpe Architecture discipline leader for the $2Bn Gold Coast University Hospital project. Since late 2011 David has been founder and manager of the Landscape Architecture and Urban Design team at Wolter Consulting Group in Brisbane.

Congratulations Daniel Jones, 2017 Karl Langer Award Winner
The 2017 Karl Langer Award is the highest honour awarded to a graduate of landscape architecture by the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects (AILA) in Queensland. First awarded in 1972, this annual award is presented to a fourth-year Queensland University of Technology (QUT) Bachelor of Design (Landscape Architecture) student who demonstrates the aptitude to make significant contributions to the profession in the future. 2017 AILA Qld Annual Chapter Meeting
AILA Qld's Annual Chapter Meeting was held on 3 August. Read the State President's Report and Finance Report. The Executive for 2017-2019 was also endorsed at the meeting: Amalie Wright (President), Jamie Franklin (Vice President), Candy Rosmarin (Secretary), David Hatherly and Ian Don. As the number of nominations did not exceed the positions available no vote was required.
