Baileys Fertiliser joins AILA WA and

AILA WA November chapter meeting.

Quizmas this Friday

Quizmas is this Friday night at the Albion Hotel in Cottesloe from 6pm. Tickets are still available, but not many. It’s turning out to be a “battle of the firms” with competition certain to hot up once everyone lays their eyes on the prize table. It will be a great night, if you haven’t organised your team yet do so soon and book a table. If you are flying solo we can put you on a table. I look forward to seeing you all there.

AILA WA and UWA visit Manjimup

On Friday I visited Manjimup with UWA Adjunct Studio Lecturer Jeremy Flynn and three fantastic students, Rebecca, Annelies and Riley, to talk to Manjimup SHS and Kearnan Catholic College about the profession of landscape architecture as part of AILA’s high school program. The UWA students presented and explained extracts from their folio on renewable energy, part of the Land Art Generator Initiative (landartgenerator.org) that the studio was based on. Many of the high school students are studying graphic art and could see the application of this in our profession.

It is fair to say that the high school students entered the session with very little knowledge of what landscape architecture is but left with a better understanding and even some interest in the course from some students.

A second open community session was run with invited community members who assisted the studio and who have an interest in renewable energy in our Southern Forests Region. This session was opened by Shire President Wade De Campo who showed great interest in the design work and ideas on display from the UWA students. Many thanks to Jeremy, Rebecca, Annelies and Riley for their time and dedication to promoting the profession.

Baileys Fertiliser joins AILA WA

It is with great pleasure to announce a new partnership with Baileys Fertiliser. Baileys is a Western Australian company that provides a wide range of residential and commercial scale fertilisers, growing media, wetting agents as well as technical advice and testing for soil and water to enable tailored products to meet specific site conditions. We look forward to working with Gen and the team at Baileys. Welcome aboard.
