The National
Council wishes to encourage former members to renew their professional
membership, to be recognised as a Registered Landscape Architect and to have the opportunity to contribute to their profession.
Each case
for re-registration is considered on a case by case basis as there are many reasons why
former members ceased to be members.
Please fill
out the preliminary assessment form - pdf or word and return it to the National Office
complete with as much information as possible and with any extra documentation
as may be required.
If possible
return it as a PDF by email to the National Office
This is a preliminsary assessment form only - other processes may be required.
If you were a former "Associate/Corporate" member - please be aware that these terms are no longer used. From 2007, full members are classified as Registered Landscape Architects.
As part of your application, could you provide your former membership number,
and/or the date when you formally became a member. We need to
search our files, so it helps to know where to start.
Please
also provide a brief statement explaining why your membership ceased.
However, even when all the above can be provided, the application will
need to be individually assessed.
More information may be required - especially if we have no file or little information on your previous membership.
While each
case is considered separately, it could be that you may need to be
fully assessed again, complete with an interview.
But all
of this depends on the information you can supply - and the circumstances of your resignation.
This process of welcoming back 'lost friends' is not to be mistaken as a process whereby registered members can put their registration on hold while they travel or undergo some other changes.
If in doubt,
please ring and talk to the National Office

The AILA reserves the right to alter these processes on a case by case basis. Also be aware that the AILA reserves the right to reject any application - or to ask that the applicant undergo a full assessment, requiring more costs.
