CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS CLOSED

The NSW AILA Awards 2009 guidelines for submissions now available:

word doc   or  PDF

Awards submissions were due by Monday 21 September 2009

Remember to put this in your diary: The Awards Presentation as part of our end of year/Christmas celebration on Thursday 3 December at Simmer on the Bay, a fantastic function centre on the water at Walsh Bay.

Q and A?

Can I enter an award and also be on the jury?... No, you can not enter an award and be on the jury.

Can I enter a project in more than one category?... Projects may not be entered into more than one category

Can I skip the State Awards and go straight to National?... Project submissions to the next National AILA Awards will only be accepted on projects that have been submitted to a state award this year or in a previous year.

from the Awards Chair

On a personal note, I would strongly encourage members who haven’t entered before to put in an award submission.

Last year my practice entered for the first time and we won the Medal in Landscape Architecture; testament that small practices can be recognised for endeavours that aren’t necessarily high profile, large budget projects.

I also encourage practices to enter their residential work in the Design category for the AILA NSW Award for Residential Design; last year this was an under-represented area yet often there are highly crafted, dynamic and considered projects in the residential sector.

Good luck
Jim Osborne,
Chair, AILA NSW Awards Committee
