AILA Salons

 

 

The AILA Salons

The second Salon is with Oculus, a design focused Landscape Architecture and Urban Design firm working on a variety of projects throughout Australia and Asia.  

They are a project focused studio, with a commitment to process as a way of revealing and communicating design outcomes. 

They are keen to welcome students, and all manner of practitioners into their studio to discuss the following projects:

  • Acton, Canberra (a new urban precinct in central Canberra)

  • Alkimos, Western Australia (an integrated coastal suburb/town development 40km north of Perth being designed in association with AJ+C)

  • Nusajaya, Malaysia (a new city in Malaysia in close proximity to Singapore)

Salons

Salon: a word derived from the French for "large room", has taken on various meanings

  • Salon (room) (or drawing room), a room in a house used for receiving guests.

  • Salon (gathering), private and public, of intellectuals to meet, discuss ideas and watch artistic performances.
