Salons

Salon: a word derived from the French for "large room", has taken on various meanings

  • Salon (room) (or drawing room), a room in a house used for receiving guests.

  • Salon (gathering), private and public, of intellectuals to meet, discuss ideas and watch artistic performances.

The AILA Salons

AILA NSW Group is proposing an informal after work monthly gathering of Landscape Architects to catch up and discuss projects, inspiration and practice.

Each Salon will be held at a different Studio/Office of our Institute members. This could be design studios, Government offices or other places of practice .

The idea is to discuss and interrogate design practice in a collaborative way, to share ideas and to elevate discussion about what it is we do.

3 projects will be presented in an informal pin up situation.
