AILA Salons
The AILA Salons
Sixth AILA Salon
360°
Wednesday 21 October 2009 , 5.30pm
360º is a studio-based practice committed to outstanding design for social and environmental sustainability. We are inspired by the diversity of the human condition and the complexity of the built environment.
We believe in the strength of the collaborative process, the power of playfulness and the embodiment of user-ownership and will discuss three recent projects with these ideas in mind.
Sam Fiszman Park, Bondi - collaboration and improvisation in the design and delivery process; National Centre of Indigenous Excellence, Redfern - the technical response to contamination in a constrained site
M Central - observations from a 3000m2 rooftop landscape, 4 years after completion, focussing on the social sustainability benefits of green roofs in comparison to ground-level and podium landscapes.
