The AILA Salons
We are continuing our highly successful Salons commenced last year. They are an informal after work monthly gathering of Landscape Architects to catch up and discuss projects, inspiration and practice.
Each Salon will be held at a different Studio/Office of our Institute members. This could be design studios, Government offices or other places of practice .
The idea is to discuss and interrogate design practice in a collaborative way, to share ideas and to elevate discussion about what it is we do.
3 projects will be presented in an informal pin up situation.
The first Salon for 2010 is at
Environmental Partnership in Birchgrove.
EP operates across a broad scope of landscape architectural practice, a diverse range of clients, and long list of collaborators.
The projects to be discussed include:
Castle Hill Town Centre (a public domain and parkland in the shadow of a retail megacentre and transport dilemna)
Wianamatta Regional Park (a new 900ha Regional Park on the old Australian Defence Industries site at St Marys)
City Homes India (residential townships in two locations in India)
We look forward to welcoming both students and our professional collegues for a relaxed drink and conversation
