These series of articles, published in the US professional journal Landscape Architecture Magazine (LAM), were prepared for two purposes.

The first was to give modern Australian landscape architecture projects an international voice.

The second was to foster a discussion which looked critically at issues relevant to practitioners in either country, including design conceptualisation, implementation and project maintenance.

The selection of projects attempted to focus on a variety of work, including memorials, parks, gardens, and public art. Through site visits and interviews with designers, clients and site users, the pieces sought to assess the successes, challenges and failures of these spaces within the context of their use.
