Citation: Inspiring Place’s entry for the Canberra Arboretum
Design Competition is an outstanding planning and design response
to a site with complex environmental issues. Although not the winning
entrant in this international design competition, Inspiring Place
prepared a unique and significant design. The entry reflects a comprehensive
approach to the balanced resolution of environmental concerns, fire
management issues, and site opportunities with a richly considered
design response.
An
exemplary planting design project, which uses exotic, indigenous
and threatened species, the design is an outstanding demonstration
of site planning which is responsive to the character of the site
and landscape.
