the wonderful feeling of supping breakfast
onboard the only 19th Century barque that regularly
carries members of the public to sea, whilst
enjoying a breakfast presentation by Sean Chiao,
an urban designer and architect with extensive
experience in the United States, Asia and Southeast
Asia, Regional Director of EDAW’s Asia
practice and a board member of EDAW Inc.
Sean
is the pioneer of EDAW’s unique
collaborative approach and ethos in Asia,
and directs multidisciplinary teams on
projects ranging in scale and scope from
master planning new town communities
to the visioning of new urban developments
and major urban/ revitalization projects,
as well as the design of major public
open space design.

He
has received many awards for his works in different
countries and regions. Most recently, his waterfront
master planning and landscape design work for
Jinji Lake in Suzhou, China was honored with
prestigious awards by three international organisations
including the American Society of Landscape
Architects (ASLA).
He
earned his Master of Architecture in Urban
Design (MAUD) degree from Harvard University
and Master of Architecture degree (M Arch)
from U.C. Berkeley.
