Darling
Harbour is an inlet of
Sydney Harbour and forms
the western side of the
central business district.
It is within walking distance
of the heart of the city
and twenty minutes drive

Darling
Harbour is bay surrounded
by activity and people.
The east and west sides
have entertainment, fine
restaurants, tourist/leisure
attractions and a retail
marketplace, making the
whole area a drawcard for
Sydneysiders and visitors
alike. From here, delegates
can catch harbour ferries
to other parts of the habour
foreshores, into the city
itself via Circular Quay,
head west to the Olympic
Parklands or even further
to Parramatta - all accessible
by ferry.
Sitting
on the waterfront in Darling
Harbour is the Sydney Convention
and Exhibition Centre,
the conference venue for
the three days. It is here
that AILA and NZILA will
host the 2006 IFLA Eastern
Region Conference.
The
Centre itself is situated
at the rear of Darling
Harbour overlooking a busy
parkland with views across
Darling Harbour into the
main harbour.
Located
on the shores of Sydney
Harbour at Pyrmont, Star
City offers the perfect
location for the IFLA Eastern
Region Conference Dinner.
Guests
will dine in the Star City
Ballroom, with views of
Sydney Harbour and the
cityscape, and an expansive
terrace providing guests
with a breath of fresh
air and the beauty of city
lights at night. Its proximity
to Darling Harbour also
ensures guests may relax
and enjoy the evening,
with a short walk to their
