Jury Comments

Earth Tech's scheme confidently tackles key issues and problems associated with new suburban subdivisions and provides a good working model that would benefit other new subdivisions on rural land.

It has created a man made environment that attempts to compliment and respect the existing landscape. The scheme's attention to the protection of Aboriginal Heritage sites, treatment of previously degraded areas, storm water drainage, and water treatment for run off to the Werribee river, displays an intelligent and thoughtful design process.

It should also be noted by developers in particular, that the successful sale of all properties points to the inclusion of environmental design as a positive marketing strategy.

The creation of local stakeholders group which will continue to look after the interests of common lands points to a high degree of residents pride and satisfaction.
