This project has reached a scale of development and prominence worthy of an Award of Excellence. Largely through this project and its sophisticated execution, Geelong has regained its civic pride over a relatively short period. This project managed to skilfully pull together and integrate with the Central Business District, the many strands of the historic foreshore blighted by neglect. In the execution of this project, the designers, city council and community has laid the foundations for what Geelong can become in the future.

Projects such as this bring great credit to the profession of landscape architecture and the competence of its professionals as the leading urban designers within Australia today.
