We were delighted to host the AILA Board in Adelaide last week and to have the opportunity for the AILA SA Executive to meet with them and share in robust discussions about key issues facing the landscape architecture profession. SAILA Fresh also presented to the board and highlighted their ongoing leadership and support to the SA Chapter, providing the board detailed insight into the operations of the SA Chapter.  It was inspiring for our local members to to engage with our new board and to hear their focus and energy for the year ahead.

AILA SA recently provided a submission to DPTI in response to the Planning, Development and Infrastructure (General) (Development Assessment) Variation Regulations 2019. AILA SA continues to advocate for the importance of quality public and private open spaces in achieving the aspiration of State Government, a long term quality of life for our community, and the need to develop mechanisms to increase green canopy in public and private land to meet State targets. In the recent submission we detailed how this includes the strengthening of protection for significant and regulated trees.
