AILA Fresh NSW Message - 7 September 2016

We’d like to welcome our newest Freshie team members Faid Ahmad (1st year student UTS) and Carina Bronte (2nd year student UTS). It’s great to have them on board!

Our last event was our annual Studio Tours Friday September 2nd, where students and grad’s look behind the scenes at some of our great landscape firms here in Sydney. This year OCULUS, 360 Degrees and McGregor Coxall were the lucky culprits! Here’s what some of the Freshies had to say about their studio experience:

“Visiting the OCULUS studio I discovered an amazing office space dotted with quirky and creative furniture and beautiful models. The people here are more like a family who create a diverse range of public spaces with a focus on people.” – Brittany Johnston 3rd year student UTS

“The AILA fresh studio tour provided a unique glimpse into the inner workings of McGregor Coxall giving students a taste of life after university and the mechanics behind building and maintaining a vibrant studio culture. Covering the intricacies of specific projects to hiring interns, all was revealed with disarming frankness and honesty. A valuable insight into life as a landscape architect at one of Australia’s leading Landscape Architectural practices.” – Ben Hardy-Clements 3rd year student UTS

“It was a great event! As a student, it was good to hear how [360 Degrees] runs and see how the values, and philosophies of the team are realised in their designs.” – Kassie Cottee 2nd year student UNSW

With positive feedback from both students and studios we look forward to hosting this event in 2017. If you would like your studio to be on board next year please contact us at
