It’s been a big couple of months for wAILA fresh. We’ve met a bunch of new faces and at some great events. wAILA fresh handed out our student welcome packs to UWA’s first year landscape architecture students. Thank you to AILA and our partners for their generous contributions. The student packs were very well received, and we think they’re a great way to get new landscape architecture students acquainted with the AILA and FRESH from the very beginning.

In the last couple of months wAILA had our first event of the year, the sold out Youthful Design at the award winning Esplanade Youth Plaza in Fremantle. Many thanks to the City of Fremantle for sponsoring the event, Dismantle for the use of their excellent workshop space and to our speakers Ian James, City of Fremantle and Nick Loschiavo, CONVIC. It was a great morning - nothing like discussing a built space at the site itself with the designers present.

We also kicked off our Fresh Friday series at PICA Bar in Northbridge. We had landscape architecture grads, students and established professionals come along, as well as a whole bunch of other design minded folk. A great evening!
