ACT Talk: Specifying Soils Within Landscape Architecture
Join us for a soils talk by SESL Australia. Simon Leake, co-author of Soils for Landscape Development: Selection, Specification and Validation, Nathaniel Hardy and Kelly Lee from SESL Australia will give a presentation on specifying soils.

SESL Australia will offer specialist advice on the foundation of every landscape project – the soil. The event will be hosted by AILA and will feature soil scientist Simon Leake discussing soil specification in landscape architecture.

Topics covered will include:

  • Why soil quality and understanding soil is critical to the success of any landscape 

  • How to include soil investigation as part of the site assessment and pre design scope 

  • Methods for specifying soil into landscape designs 

  • How to lower cost of construction and reduce environmental footprint by specifying site soil amelioration as part of the landscape design. 

  • Answer soil related questions and give case studies on works SESL Australia have completed in ACT and within Australia.
