Want a break from the stresses of study, come and join the SAILA Fresh crew for Plant, Paint, Meditate! Spend the morning in the Botanic Gardens learning to meditate with yoga and meditation instructor, Dawn Marsh. Once you are relaxed we will get creative with an art workshop. Make sure you dress suitably for the weather.
To coincide with University of Adelaide Mental Health Awareness Week, the SAILA Fresh team aims to increase recognition of mental health issues among landscape architecture students and contribute to reducing the stigma associated with the pressing course deadlines and stress of building their future career.
The workshop provides students the opportunity to learn techniques to help manage their stress levels throughout their studies. Katarina Baumann from WAX Design will be giving a talk about her personal experiences dealing with the stresses of study and graduate life. Meditation and yoga instructor, Dawn Marsh will guide the students through a movement and focus meditation involving plants. The workshop will finish off with a guided art workshop, giving students the opportunity to use their creative energy to unwind.
Numbers are limited, so ensure you register for the event through SAILA Fresh website.
