At this ROUND TABLE discussion, we will be providing members with an update on the AILA Gender Equity Campaign and run through what AILA Victoria’s current focuses are. Members will have an opportunity to give feedback, make suggestions and volunteer to contribute. We’ll also ask about women*’s experiences of adjusting to COVID-19 conditions and how we can alter our approaches to best help our members.
The AILA Victoria Gender Equity Working Group are planning a series of interviews with women in leadership roles. We thought watching a live interview could provide a nice break from your new home office. For this ROUND TABLE discussion, we have invited Jane Homewood, the Executive Director Statutory Planning Services DELWP to discuss her current role and career. There will be time for members to ask questions afterwards.
We hope that you join us to make this an enjoyable and valuable session.
Jane Homewood is the Executive Director Statutory Planning Services (DELWP) and has extensive experience in local and state government and the private sector in local, national and international roles focused on city renewal.
Her Ph.D, The Authorship of Space: The role of key individuals in the transformation of inner Melbourne from the late 1960’s to the mid-1980s and lessons learnt for today and her working career has provided her with comprehensive working knowledge of the governance, urban design and development, social policy, infrastructure and economic drivers of cities.
Notably, she has worked alongside Landscape Architects in various capacities and is a strong advocate for the work we do and our contribution to changing our cities for the better. In this session she will discuss her experiences and challenges in becoming a leader in her field.
