Come join us to celebrate National Reconciliation Week which is from 27 May to 3 June. The National Reconciliation Week 2020 theme, In this together, reinforces that we all have a role to play when it comes to reconciliation, and in playing our part we collectively build relationships and communities that value Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, histories and cultures. “When we come together to build mutual respect and understanding, we shape a better future for all Australians.” Reconciliation Australia Chief Executive Officer, Karen Mundine.
At this ROUND TABLE discussion, we will focus on the 2020 theme, In this together, inviting various speakers to share personal reflections about their professional reconciliation journey which may have challenged their formal training as a landscape architect, created a better agency for the Aboriginal community or shared a role to heal place. There will be time for members to ask questions afterwards. Further details to come.
We will also be providing members with an update on the AILA Reconciliation Action Plan and run through what AILA Victoria’s current focuses are. Members will have an opportunity to give feedback, make suggestions and volunteer to contribute.
We hope that you join us to make this an enjoyable and valuable session.
