Australian design for Sydney Park wins 2018 Civic Trust awards in the UK

Sydney-based landscape architects Turf Design Studio in collaboration with Environmental Partnership has been awarded both the Civic Trust Award and The Special Award for Sustainability at Europe’s longest running awards program for the built environment, the 59th Civic Trust Awards.

Experimental garden opens its gate

Kate Herd's rambling riverside garden in Alphington is open this weekend (March 17 and 18). Herd, an artist, garden designer and writer, has been fashioning this 2.4-hectare spread for more than 20 years and it has everything from terraced ornamental beds and a kitchen garden to naturalistic wetlands and sweeping expanses of indigenous grasses. Herd has described the garden as a "laboratory for experimentation" where she watches how particular plants cope with different growing conditions and maintenance techniques.

The three significant projects include the construction of two new lookouts at the Twelve Apostles and the Loch Ard Gorge Precinct, as well as a new pedestrian bridge in Port Campbell along Victoria’s Great Ocean Road.
