2016 International Festival of Landscape Architecture
The 2016 International Festival of Landscape Architecture: Not In My Backyard Conference was attended by a record number of 600 delegates. The broader Festival engaged with over 3,000 participants across 30 fringe events in Canberra ranging from KIDSCAPE playground in Haig Park, anthropoScene global short film competition, Parks Changing Australia exhibitions and #backyardexperiment pop-up park. 2016 National Landscape Architecture Awards
The recipients of the 2016 National Landscape Architecture Awards were announced and celebrated at a party at the National Arboretum with sweeping views across Canberra. Attracting over 300 entries in 2016, the AILA National Landscape Architecture Awards advance the profession of landscape architecture by fostering awareness and recognition of the work of AILA Registered Landscape Architects. Living Cities Workshop
Following the recent announcements by the Minister for the Environment Greg Hunt and the Prime Minister around greening cities, increasing tree canopy cover and green space AILA held a Living Cities Workshop in partnership with Engineers Australia on 10 February 2016 in Canberra. The aim was to facilitate organisations active in this pace to work together, leverage information and develop united policies to inform the government. Read more.
2015 Festival of Landscape Architecture: This Public Life
Melbourne (15-18 October 2015). This Public Life will shift the prevailing conversation from self-reflective to open, collaborative and critical.
