Lighting 101 with Buckford Illumination Group and ERCO

Join us for a breakfast CPD presentation covering the basics of lighting solutions and explore how your practice can advocate for excellent lighting solutions upfront at the project conception phase.  This event is proudly hosted by Buckford Illumination Group and ERCO.

The session will include an overview presentation on the following topics to provide attendees with a basic understanding of the key areas to be considering when beginning a design.

Key topics of discussion are:
- High level overview of AS Standards – safety and environment, glare, light pollution
- Colour temperature 
- Lighting controls – there is more focus on optics and precise lighting tools for low energy use / only putting light where it is needed
- Case Study Projects to use as explanations to accompany diagrams of concepts
- Using Richard Kelly’s language of light for outdoor spaces
- Control of all forms of light pollution / Environmental issues including dark sky requirements
- Efficiency and saving energy
- Enhancing night time landscape architecture and architecture
- Making a space visually comfortable
- Light for safety and safety impression

Target audience 
- LAs wanting to find out more about the basics of lighting
- LAs working on concept designs to enable upfront discussions to inform budgets at the early stages of projects
