The session is ideal for landscape architects and built environment professionals, particularly those new to health-based design or seeking a refresher. Attendees will gain insights into best practices and policies to enhance the health and liveability of urban spaces, suburbs, and green areas.

Workshop Objectives:

- Outline the health imperatives associated with good planning and design based on current health statistics.
- Examine current health research and policy that relate to the built environment professions with commentary on success or otherwise.
- Explain to participants the many resources available to enable them to strengthen their understanding of the depth and breadth of knowledge in health and liveability design guidance.

Learning Outcomes:
- Encourage further and ongoing learning through the provision of good precedent health policy and research for practitioners to refer to and use in their place of work.
- Showcase constructed projects for participants to reference as benchmarks of healthy planning and design in their place of work.
- Encourage more consideration of health as a planning and design driver in policy and project delivery.
- Provide participants with practical tools for them to use to assist with better health focussed design processes and outcomes.

Audience:
Recommended for those new to applying health related research and tools to planning and design along with those looking for a refresher in this field to hear about current/new research.
Recommended generally for landscape architects and built environment professionals involved in policy / guideline creation and in the design and delivery of our city, suburbs, and green spaces.
