Aroussiak Gabrielian

Aroussiak Gabrielian is an architectural and landscape architectural designer with a background in visual arts. Currently a Lecturer at the University of Southern California's School of Architecture, Aroussiak holds an MLA and an M.Arch from the University of Pennsylvania. She has practiced architecture and landscape architecture at Snøhetta in New York City where she was a lead designer on the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art Expansion and the Guadalajara Museum of Environmental Sciences. She has previously taught at University of Pennsylvania and University of Toronto. Aroussiak deploys her cross-disciplinary training to advance design that heightens spatial awareness and sensory impact. Her work has been recognized through various design awards, publications, and exhibits. As part of foreground, Aroussiak explores the role of representation as an active agent in the design process and develops new ways of reading and visualizing the spatial, temporal and tactile phenomena of landscape to interpret and structure site. Currently she is pursuing her doctorate at the USC School of Cinematic Arts to focus on the intersection of new cinematic media and the design of the built environment.
