Kirsten Wehner

Dr Kirsten Wehner is Head Curator, People and the Environment, at the National Museum of Australia. Trained as a visual anthropologist, Kirsten has produced over 30 exhibitions, digital platforms and films exploring Australian cultures and environments. Her current work focuses on how museums can help communities respond to challenges such as climate change,biodiversity loss and cultural dislocation. Kirsten is co-author/editor of Landmarks: A history of Australia in 33 places (NMA, 2013) and Curating the Future: Museums, communities and climate change (Routledge, 2016). She is a Fellow of the Rachel Carson Center for Environment and Society, Munich, and a member of the Australia-Pacific Observatory of Humanities for the Environment.
