Dr Naomi Stead
Dr Naomi Stead is Associate Professor in the School of
Architecture at the University of Queensland, where she is also Deputy Director
of the Research Centre ATCH (Architecture Theory Criticism History). Her
research interests lie broadly within the critical and cultural studies of
architecture, including its reception in popular and professional media. Stead
is editor of the book Semi-detached: Writing, representation and criticism
in architecture (Uro, 2012) and was from 2011-2014 co-editor of Architectural
Theory Review. Stead’s publication record includes 16
book chapters, 28 journal articles, 38 conference papers, and 12 industry
reports. In addition, she is a widely-published architecture critic, having
been commissioned to write more than 50 articles in the Australasian
professional architectural media, and is currently a columnist for both The
Conversation and Places Journal.
