Time: Pick Up Perth CBD- 9:30am or meet at City of Canning Administration Centre. Bus back to City – arrives approx. 2:00pm
Available to our in-person registrations in Perth.  Free for Festival attendees - registration essential.  Limited places available. 

Come and visit two transformational Water Sensitive Urban Design Projects in the City of Canning. Both award winning projects they aim to improve the health of the Swan Canning River System, while providing beautiful spaces and biodiverse habitat areas for our native plant and animal species.

Wharf street wetlands was undertaken in 2007-8 and has since developed into a thriving wetland system integrated into the surrounds of the Canning River Regional park. Wharf Street Basin was completed in 2020 and is already a thriving ecosystem and a transformational project in terms of water management, smart cities and data integration.  The tour will finish with a visit to Kent St Weir, one of the Coty of Canning’s most loved Parklands. Part way through a multiyear development, visit the new Department of Biodiversity Conservation and Attractions River park Interpretation Node on the banks of the Canning River followed by a light lunch by Christies Barbecues.  
To attend this tour, you must be booked in for the in-person Perth registration for the 2021 Festival of Landscape Architecture . For those who have already registered for the Perth in-person Festival, an email confirmation will be sent to you shortly where you will be able to choose which tours and fringe events you would like to attend.
