Anne-Marie Pisani

An experienced and passionate Landscape Architect, Anne-Marie has worked on a variety of projects in a diverse range of Australian environments, ranging from the tropical environment of the Torres Strait to the idyllic natural setting of Kangaroo Island, off the coast of South Australia. These projects span across private, public and government sectors and have generally had a strong environmental or community based focus.

Through her involvement with Aboriginal communities from various parts of Australia over many years, and in her current role with Parks Victoria, Anne Marie has been exploring meaningful processes for engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities in design projects.

In 2015 Anne-Marie initiated and founded AILA Vic’s ‘Connection to Country’ committee and its inaugural Symposium, and with the support of AILA Vic Exec team developed Victoria’s C2C Strategy. Following on from this, Anne Marie now has a role on the AILA National Advisory Committee, which is developing the base for a National draft RAP.

Anne-Marie has married into a Victorian Aboriginal family and aims to ensure her two young girls are educated and strong in their culture, whilst advocating for a community where they can be proud that their culture is inherently influencing Melbourne’s urban landscape.
