Cees van der Veeken

Cees’ expertise lies in the field of research and design of regional parks, landscape structures and green public spaces. He recently published with the LOLA team the bestselling book ‘Dutch Dikes’ and he is the project leader of various projects among which the Brabantstad Tapestry Metropolis, the Embassy garden in Rabat (Morocco) and the design for the adidas campus in Herzogenaurach in Germany. 

Cees teaches and lectures at various academies and universities, among activities as a juror, commissioner and visiting critic. In 2001 he was awarded the Eo Wijers prize and in 2006 Europan 8. In 2013 he received the Rotterdam Maaskant Prize for Young Architects. On the occasion he co-wrote with Peter Veenstra and Eric-Jan Pleijster the monograph on LOLA titled ‘Lost Landscapes’. In 2014 LOLA received the Topos Landscape Award in Lausanne (CH).
