Time has become a precious commodity in our modern world. We measure it to the nanosecond even though we can only perceive it by what we can accomplish in that second! Once upon a time (pun intended!), all societies related time to the rhythms in their landscape.  As Landscape Architects I believe we need to consider how we might reconcile time and space – to use time so we don’t waste space!

This notion really came to me after being on the Jury for ACT Awards.  What stood out was the deference to collaboration with the First Nation’s stewards of our land and waters. The results reflected that encapsulation of time and stories in the landscapes.

I would encourage you all to join in on the ACT online Reveal and  take the time out to come and celebrate at the ACT Awards night on the 23rd of May.  Tickets on sale now!
