Statement regarding recent media coverage

AILA is aware of the recent media reports concerning architectural photographer Derek Swalwell. We understand that this has raised concern within the design community, and we acknowledge the responses already issued by other industry organisations.

Given the sensitivity of the matter, AILA is currently checking if any imagery by the photographer involved is featured across our digital platforms and publications. As part of this process, AILA has reviewed photographer attributes in AILA’s Awards Force program and removed any images from this photographer from our galleries. Entrants will be contacted to see how they would like to proceed. However, if you think you may have projects used across AILA channels that contain images taken by him and you would like those images replaced, please contact your local AILA Chapter.

We will continue to monitor the situation and take appropriate action as required. If members have concerns or require further information, please contact the AILA team.
