David Roberts RLA | QLD Executive

Hi everyone and welcome to AILA QLD e-news.

Last week it was great to get together at the AILA Christmas Party and Karl Langer Award. Congratulations to Clare Mayberry for successfully winning the competition and taking out this year’s coveted award. Well done! Also, congratulations to the nominees and thank you to the jury for your personal and professional contribution to make the award a success.

December is always a busy time of year, and this year is no exception. Everyone is extremely busy, costs are rising fast, and demand is high. Brisbane now seems to be accelerating toward the Olympics and we still have 10 years to go. As we get closer it is important that we continue to put pressure on government to position the right design expertise in the right areas to ensure the environment remains a priority throughout our State.

If you have an issue that you believe needs raising with your local member or community, don’t hesitate to contact the AILA QLD Advocacy Group and we will see how we can assist.

As we move to 2022, continue to network with your colleagues, build stronger relationships and don’t forget to contribute where you can by supporting AILA that continues to underpin this wonderful profession – Landscape Architecture.

Lastly, I wish you and your family a Merry Christmas and safe and Happy New Year and see you in 2022!

Regards
David Roberts
