AIA Awards

I am honoured to be on the Jury for the City of Adelaide Prize judging this year, with a jury including representatives from AIA, PIA, DIA, Guildhouse and City of Adelaide. This year a diverse range of projects have been nominated within the category including public art, residential, commercial, open space, and interior architecture.  The Jury Presentation Day was held on the weekend which allowed the intricacies and public benefits of each project to be heard from the Design Team. Our next step as a jury is to visit each of the projects and hear from the Clients.

We encourage you to submit your Adelaide based projects into City of Adelaide Prize next year. Free to enter and a huge opportunity to showcase projects small and large that demonstrate a public benefit to the City of Adelaide, bringing streets and spaces of Adelaide alive.

Industry Connections

The Executive met with PIA, AIA and DIA members in early March to reignite connections with our industry colleagues and we look forward to sharing opportunities throughout the year for our members to connect.

Chapter Advocacy
AILA SA recently prepared a submission for the Parliamentary Inquiry into the Urban Forest. You can read our submission here.

Operational Plan

The AILA SA Executive is in the final stages of finalising the Operational plan for the next 18 months and we look forward to sharing this with members. Our focus will be on continuing the profiling and advocacy work of the chapter through the AILA Festival in Adelaide along with a focus on the Be A Landscape Architecture program, and working with State Government on various initiatives to bolster our Landscape Architecture program in SA. AILA SA is also working very closely with SAILA Fresh to support strengthening connections with students and recent graduates.

AILA’s 2023 Festival
We are very much looking forward to sharing the details for the Festival in Adelaide in October – please save the date and start planning who will be attending from your office.  We look forward to working with the Creative Directors to deliver a uniquely SA festival!

Enjoy the quiet post Fringe and Adelaide festival season and the excitement of the award season.

Cheers
Janelle
