2016 AGM Notice to Members

Date: Friday 28 October 2016

Time: 1pm AEDST

Venue: Gandel Hall, National Gallery of Australia, Parkes Place, Parkes, Canberra, ACT 2600.


It is my pleasure to extend an official invitation to the Annual General Meeting (‘AGM’) of the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects. The AGM will be held as part of the International Festival of Landscape Architecture at the National Gallery of Australia. The meeting begins at 1pm, and expected to conclude at 1.30pm.

 

As a Registered Landscape Architect, you are a ‘Full Member” and hence have voting privileges at the AGM. As such, we wish to engage you to attend our AGM with this official notice. Access to the AGM session of the Festival is available to all applicable members without charge. If you are unable to attend, you may wish to appoint a proxy to attend and vote on your behalf [1]. The proxy does not need to be a Registered Landscape Architect. A proxy form is attached to this notice and will need to be supplied by 12pm noon AEDST on 26thOctober 2016, via email to admin@aila.org.au.

On the agenda for the AGM will be the following:

  1. Approval of the previous year’s AGM minutes
  2. Approval of the minutes of the Extraordinary General Meeting held on July 22nd2016
  3. National President report 2015-2016
  4. Presentation of the audited financial statements for 2015/2016

This includes electronic copies of the 2016 EGM Minutes, 2016 Annual Report & Financial statements, as well as a detailed draft agenda for this AGM (including the proposed resolutions) and a proxy form. Limited hard copies of the reports and agenda will be available for those in attendance.

 

As a Full member, you are able to seek additional items to be placed on the Agenda of the AGM [2]. The request for additional business items and motions must be in writing and in accordance to clause 12.3(a)(iii) of the constitution [3], addressed to the Secretary and be received by 6th October 2016 to admin@aila.org.au. If the Board receive any requests for additional items, it will be distributed to all members in preparation for the meeting.
