Presentation 1: A Construction Overview of Concrete Masonry Retaining Wall Systems

Austral Masonry will provide an overview on the design and construction of gravity earth retaining structures, and geogrid soil reinforced concrete masonry retaining wall system using a pin interlocking connecting system. The presentation will also include an analysis of soils, discussion of the site investigation check list and detail a study of the reliability of the end product. Key learning outcomes:

From an urban design perspective is there more to consider than simply planting more trees? How can suppliers support your design vision around the areas of quality and tree performance? Key learning outcomes:

  • Explain the benefits of the 202020Vision initiative
  • Describe the need for and processes around the Australian Standard (AS2303) Tree Stock for Landscape Use
  • Describe the collective social responsibility to improve community health and wellbeing

 

Presentation 3: The Value, Life and Aesthetics that Turf Brings to a Landscape

Surveys have indicated that a well maintained lawn adds $40,000 to the value of a house. What value can well maintained POS bring to parks, public building and commercial spaces? An attractive area of lawn in a well-designed space draws people in to engage with the space. Hear why Village Green received Plant Breeders Rights in Europe. Key learning outcomes:

  • List the advantage of using PBR varieties
  • Describe the importance of maintenance to achieve quality turf outcomes
  • Explain the importance of specifying particular varieties of turf to ensure quality outcomes
