CREATIVE DIRECTORATE

Together with cultural advisors, the 2023 festival is directed by four leading landscape architects working and living on Kaurna Meyunna Yerta. Lyndon Slavin is an associate landscape architect at ASPECT Studios, Dr Tanya Court is creative director of Tanya Court Projects, Dr Scott Hawken is director of the Landscape Architecture and Urban Design programs at the University of Adelaide and Gemma Kleinig, landscape architect, City Design at the City of Unley. We look forward to you joining us.

CULTURAL ADVISERS

The 2023 UN/EARTH Festival of Landscape Architecture creative directors are delighted to introduce this year’s Cultural Advisers, Senior Kaurna Elder Uncle Jeffrey Newchurch and Kaurna Elder Aunty Merle Simpson.

AILA and its Festival creative directors are sincerely grateful to have Uncle Jeffrey and Aunty Merle provide cultural advice during the planning and delivery of the Festival, and for their insights and sharing of knowledge.

The 2023 Festival of Landscape Architecture is taking place in Tarntanya / Adelaide from the 19-22 October. We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the land the Kaurna people and we pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging.
